Pune: Aeromall at Pune Airport is set to introduce an additional exit lane for four-wheelers to tackle increasing traffic congestion.
The decision comes as the number of private cars and cabs using Aeromall continues to rise, with nearly 6,000 four-wheelers passing through the facility every day.
According to Aeromall administration, one lane currently designated for two-wheelers will be repurposed for four-wheelers.

This change will increase the number of lanes for four-wheelers from three to four, while two-wheelers will now have one lane instead of two. The new traffic arrangement is expected to be operational within a week.
Aeromall aims to reduce long passenger wait times
For the past several weeks, congestion at the facility has resulted in delays, forcing passengers to wait between 30 minutes to an hour to exit the premises. The issue is particularly severe at night when vehicle traffic is at its peak. With the new exit arrangement, passengers using Aeromall will experience smoother movement and shorter wait times.
Four-wheeler traffic significantly higher than two-wheelers
Aeromall, which manages both four-wheeler and two-wheeler parking at Pune Airport, has observed that the number of four-wheelers far exceeds that of two-wheelers. The majority of this traffic includes private vehicles and cabs ferrying passengers to and from the airport.

“The additional lane for four-wheelers will help ease the congestion and improve the travel experience for passengers,” said Yuvrajsingh Rajput, Vice President, Aeromall, Pune Airport, while speaking with mediapersons.
The step marks a significant move by the administration to streamline passenger movement and ensure faster vehicular exit from the airport premises.
